Carlene Rae Dater and Clarkie
So, who am I and why do I think I’m qualified to talk about mysteries? Well, I’ve been reading them all my life, going to mystery movies watching all the crime shows on television, both real and make believe. I love mysteries.
I’ve been a published writer for twenty-five years. I’ve published over 350 short stories in the confession market, horror genre, mysteries, of course, even a few in religious magazines. I’ve worked as a journalist and have done hard news, features and humorous essays.
So far in my career, I have published ten books: three romances, a romance, a romantic suspense, two humorous mysteries, a straight mystery, paranormal mystery, erotic paranormal romantic suspense and a non-fiction book I wrote about my time as a volunteer at the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. I’ve published e-books, POD’s, with a conventional publisher and have self-published.
I currently mentor a writing group at our local library and will be teaching, “Beginning the Novel” at SWOCC spring semester. I continue to write full time from our new home in Coos Bay, Oregon.
