The part you just described isn't the hard part for me. The hard part is going back to the story and I swear that half the time my editing is just meddling and not fixing.

With my short story writing I have to go back over it right away or at least roll it around in my mind looking for the weak spots while it's still fresh and I remember it all.

I think you're right, we should always continue to learn. We had a drama class for awhile at our church. I took it to learn more about how actors take on the persona of their character. I think its a great way to improve the Show not Tell aspect to writing. I'm interested to see what comes out of your continuing education this time. :)

I've heard about the kindle machine. It's like carrying a library in your purse, instead on a single good book. What a wonderful avenue to have your books in. I'd say that you're probably beginning to ride the wave of the future!

Hi Mary,

No this one hasn't been published - yet. All six of my books on Kindle have been published and the rights reverted back to me, so I decided, why not?

But doesn't it feel so good to know that the first draft is done? Such a feeling of accomplishment...until you start the second draft. :) Enjoy the break.

Will this book be listed in Amazon to be used on that Kindle player too? I need to save my pennies. Having one of those would be like carrying a library in my purse instead of a paperback or two.

I ordered his Forensics and Fiction Book and can't wait until it arrives. I'll look for your question. Yes, he is VERY nice.

I didn't know that Doug had another book out. I have his Forensics for Dummies book and his Forensics and Fiction book (I have a question published in it).

He's very approachable and answers most everything. D Lyle's a terrific resource.

To do a google alert is easy. Just go to the google page and hit advanced search. Enter in key words that you want like: Forensics, murder, homicide etc. Every day I get a google alert that shows me articles with those subjects in the story. It comes directly to your email. I thinkyours came in under the forensic keyword.

And I think I will get the book. :)
