The hard part is going back to the story and I swear that half the time my editing is just meddling and not fixing. With my short story writing I have to go back over it right away or at least roll it around in my mind looking for the weak spots while it's still fresh and I remember it all. We had a drama class for awhile at our church. I took it to learn more about how actors take on the persona of their character. I think its a great way to improve the Show not Tell aspect to writing. Just go to the google page and hit advanced search. Enter in key words that you want like: Forensics, murder, homicide etc. Every day I get a google alert that shows me articles with those subjects in the story. It comes directly to your email.
