It’s research!
Here I am a day late. Sorry but I had to indulge the better half buy going with him to see some fabulous cars. We went with a group to the Marconi Museum in Tustin California and it was amazing. The museum is full of exotic cars, motorcycles and other fun stuff. It’s open during the week for a nominal donation and is well worth checking out. I love to go to places like that because I make notes. You never know when a character might need a Ferrari Dino or Ducate motorcycle. Now I can describe them without have to buy one! (Yes, that’s a joke). One of the Ferraris had been ordered by the Sultan of Bruni and somehow would up in the museum. The original price was eight million (yup, that’s not a typo) but the Sultan’s brother wouldn’t let him have it so….it’s now considered priceless. Yes, I was very careful not to leave my fingerprints on it.
Probably my favorite car in the collection was a black Lamborghini Contassh. It looked like the Batmoblie - fabulous! It was hard not to drool on that baby, believe me. I scribled pictures and took copious notes and will have to build a character some day who is rich enough to own one of these cars.
So, if you are looking for inspiration or just want to get out of the house, consider going to a museum - any museum. You never know what ideas your trip might ignite.
