I'm a huge fan of some of Koontz's older stuff. Twilight Eyes is one I've reread a number of times. I also liked Hideaway and Whispers. He does a good romance and I enjoy that. But too much detail--totally! I have trouble visualizing some of his more complicated scenarios.

I agree with Steph that his books are hit or miss. I think I stopped reading his new releases when the Big Evil turned out to be an alien lizard. That sounds so ridiculous that now I'm wondering if I dreamed it.

The thing about Koontz' books is that they're either hit or miss. I don't I've ever read a book of his where I walked away thinking "Oh, that was all right." It's always blow-your-socks-off "WOW!" or "Meh, and to think I could have re-read Watchers instead."

By the way, I found your blog on blogcatalog.com and since I see you're into writing and literature, I wanted to let you know about a new e-zine that me and a few writer friends are putting together.

It's called The Oddville Press.

You should check us out if you're interested--or better yet, submit something!

Thanks a bunch. I haven't read a Dean Koontz book in awhile, so I may just have to check that one out. Cheers!
